RUBBER

Industrial rubbers ideal for manufacturing

Adhesive Backed Materials Ltd only use high quality rubber materials in our production runs, ensuring you get a quality product. We offer a number of options for different applications.

SBR (Styrene Butadiene)

A synthetic elastomer suitable for low to medium duty
applications involving air, water and diluted mixtures for,
economic, general purpose applications.

NR (Natural Rubber)

NR natural rubber compounds have high abrasion
resistance with excellent resilience, tensile strength,
elongation, tear strength and mechanical properties It is
highly flexible and has good low permanent set qualities It
is not recommended on higher temperature applications

CR (Chloroprene) – Neoprene

A multi-purpose material suitable for applications involving
weathering, sea water, mineral oils, greases, dilute acids
and alkalis but is not recommended for fuel immersion It
also exhibits good flame retardant properties dependent on
polymer content

NBR (Nitrile Butadiene) – Nitrile

Excellent resistance to petroleum oils and aromatic
hydrocarbons, mineral oils and many acids with good
elongation, resilience, tensile and compression set
properties

EPDM (Ethylene Propylene)

Excellent resistance to water (fresh and sea), oxidation,
ultra violet, ozone and weathering coupled with good
temperature resistance It also has good resistance to
acids, water based chemicals and vegetable based
hydrocarbons but is not recommended for use with mineral
oils and di-ester based lubricants

IIR (Isobutylene) – Butyl

Very high impermeability to gases, ozone, ultra violet light
and weathering with high chemical and acid resistance and
is particularly good when applications involving high and
low temperatures prevail

CSM (Hypalon®)

Outstanding resistance to most chemicals and oils at
high and low temperatures with excellent weathering and
abrasion resistance It also has low moisture absorption
and good dielectric properties.

SI (Silicone)

Outstanding high/low temperature resistance without
failure Typical applications include oven door seals, glazing
seals, gaskets and sealing washers It has excellent flameretardant characteristics and can be used in contact with
food and drink

FKM (Flouroelastomers and Viton®)

Fluoroelastomer (including Viton®) are materials designed
for very high operating temperature applications in excess
of 200ºc They have outstanding resistance to chemical
attack by oxidation and corrosive fluids while retaining their
mechanical properties

PVC (Polyvinylchloride)

Flexible PVC sheet materials have excellent oil, grease
and fuel resistance and are commonly used for protection
screens, weather and draught curtains and kickboard
panels as it is very durable and resilient

CNAF (Compressed non asbestos fibre) and Graphite

These materials offer viable alternatives to the now
discontinued asbestos based products A range is available
to suit most applications previously covered by asbestos
based materials

PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene)

Exhibits unique physical characteristics and achieves
almost universal chemical resistance and is insoluble in
all solvents below 300ºc with a high temperature service
stability at 250ºc and low temperature resistance at 200ºc
It has extremely low coefficiency of friction and excellent
low stick values, is non flammable, weather resistant and
can be used with food and drinks
The ultimate material for demanding applications for
abrasion resilience, wear resistance and tear strength with
good resistance to ozone and oxygen It also exhibits low
co efficiency of friction values
